1. Who these cover

Anyone using the Nadiv mobile app, this website, or the teacher console. Institutional customers also have a signed agreement with us; where the two differ on anything, the agreement governs.

2. Your account

• One account per person. Do not share credentials.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. If you think it has been compromised, email us and change the password.
• Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at — it is how an account is recovered and how a deletion request is verified.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to reach another teacher's classroom, another student's records, or any data that is not yours.
• Do not submit recordings of people who have not agreed to be recorded. If you are a teacher, that includes recording a class on someone else's behalf.
• Do not resell, sublicense or redistribute access to Nadiv.
• Do not attempt to overload, disrupt, scrape or reverse-engineer the scoring service.
• Do not use Nadiv to make an employment, admissions or immigration decision about somebody. See §5.

4. Classrooms and student data

• A teacher who creates a classroom is responsible for who they give the join code to. A code is not a secret once it has been read out to a room.
• Students choose whether to join, by redeeming a code. We do not add students to classrooms on an institution's behalf.
• Nadiv produces the measurements. Interpreting them, acting on them, and any decision taken about a student on the strength of them is the institution's responsibility.
• What a teacher can see is set out in Privacy & data handling, and it never includes a student's recordings.

5. What a Nadiv score is, and is not

A Nadiv score is a measurement produced by software from an audio sample. It is a useful, consistent instrument for tracking pronunciation over time. It is not any of the following:

• An official assessment, certification, or statement of language level.
• A prediction of an exam result or band, in IELTS or anything else. We do not calibrate against exam scales and we do not claim to.
• A judgement of a person's intelligence, education or suitability for anything.

Nadiv scores how sounds are produced, against a General American English reference. It does not grade grammar, vocabulary, discourse or written work.

6. Availability

Nadiv is pre-launch. We work to keep it up, and we do not promise here that it always will be. Any availability commitment to an institution is made in the signed agreement, not on this page.

7. Changes, and stopping

• We may add, change or remove features. Where a change would materially affect an institutional customer, we tell them before it lands.
• You can stop using Nadiv at any time. Email teamnadiv@gmail.com to have your account and its history deleted.
• We may suspend an account that is breaking §3, and we will say why when we do.

8. Commercial terms live elsewhere

Pricing, term length, invoicing, seat counts, availability commitments, liability and governing law are set per institute in a signed agreement — not on this page, and not on a price list. That is why there is no pricing page on this site. Ask us for the full agreement before you need to sign it, not after.
